Introducing new owners of The Groutsmith – Greg and Stacy Taylor and Mark Burdon.
Polk County native Greg Taylor and his college sweetheart, Stacy, knew they wanted to own their own business one day when they moved back to Florida after college. After working 14 years in the finance world, Greg finally took a leap of faith and started his own painting business so he could be his own boss and spend more time with his 3 children.
Polk County native Greg Taylor and his college sweetheart, Stacy, knew they wanted to own their own business one day when they moved back to Florida after college. After working 14 years in the finance world, Greg finally took a leap of faith and started his own painting business so he could be his own boss and spend more time with his 3 children.
His business thrived, and he was able to grow the business big enough to allow Stacy to resign from teaching and help him run the business. Upon becoming empty nesters, they were ready for a new challenge and thought The Groutsmith business would be a great sister company to their existing painting business. They were already familiar with The Groutsmith product as customers and were impressed with the results when they had their floors done. Greg let the previous owners know to contact him when they were ready to sell the business because he and Stacy were interested.
The owners did call soon after and Greg and Stacy bought the business along with their friend and business partner, Mark Burdon. Mark Burdon has lived in Polk County for over 20 years and has been Greg’s right hand man in managing the paint business. They are excited about continuing the great service and customer relations and expanding the business to offer maintenance cleanings.
